My name is Scott Farmer. I am a Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist and a person whom suffered from Depression and Anxiety. Have you ever felt any of the following?
I spent the last 15 years working in Clinical Cardiology at the Central Minnesota Heart Center. During that time I had the opportunity to lecture, counsel and treat patients from all over Minnesota and the world.
But my story has nothing to do with my education or my professional experience. It has to do with my personal experience. You see I have suffered from Depression, and Anxiety, and dysthimia for most of my 40 years alive on this planet.
I have taken every SSRI, I have read every self help book, and I have counseled with 9 different therapists and even have gone to Denver to have a nuclear brain scan done all to relieve the pain of anxiety and depression.
No traditional western medicines work. So I went to the Mayo clinic to see if they could offer me any additional help. I was so desperate to get help I would do most anything. In my book I wrote on my experiences with depression I outlined how I worked for years as a therapist with this condition well hidden. I would work with a patient and then go in the bathroom and cry. My stomach was always in knots and I had IBS constantly secondary to my nerves. Death would have been welcome by me but I have 3 children and a wife and there is no way I would ever leave them.
During my visit to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, the Psychiatrist that I saw did not offer me any new magical answers for my anxiety or depression. She was straightforward and said my psychiatrist in St. Cloud was doing a great job of refining medication to find something to give me relief.
She did, however, make one small recommendation and that was the idea of ECT. She said it proves to be effective in helping patients with refractory depression.
During my second night in this hotel, I was staying in Rochester because of a snowstorm, a night in which I could not sleep; I got on the internet to learn more about ECT. The procedure scared me so I thought I would look it up on the internet. I found some articles. I remember reading an article about how emotionally abused children have fewer connections between hemispheres of the brain, resulting in severe anxiety and depression. Both my brother and my sister have tried to take their life.
When I did finally reach the ECT articles I found comfort by some of the latest research. But that wasn’t my greatest discovery that night.
During my surfing, I stumbled on a web site www.depressiontreatmentnow.com . I began to read through the published research and noticed that this is FDA approved for treating many conditions like Depression, Anxiety and Insomnia. And I learned the efficacy of this was 2 to 3 fold over the best pharmaceuticals. I listened to the news reports that came in the form of pop-up windows, where NBC and ABC news had done stories on this device.
Being a depressed person, once told I could find a black lining in a silver cloud, I began looking for the bad of this device. Hell I never heard of it and none of my doctors ever mentioned it to me.
I read for almost 2 hours. Every report and presented article; I couldn’t find anything negative. This device was helping all over the world without a need for a Health Care Providers prescription. So why is this device such a hidden secrete? Do the pharmaceutical companies squash things that may take away profits from them? I read in one of the articles where an MD said this device could save almost 83 billion dollars per year in medication cost alone. Wow!
So I went back and asked the Mayo psychiatrist if she had heard of it or would recommend it. A day later she calls back saying that she has never heard of it and neither has her partners. And her recommendation is to not use it.
I came home and asked my psychiatrist to look it over. He never got the chance. I remembered I was a licensed health care provider (don’t need to be an MD) and ordered one for me. It was a no brain decision. I received a money-back 30 trial period. The device was already FDA approved with a 100 plus human studies performed and greater than 30 animal studies without one serious side effect. I bought one.
After my first session I noticed a change. No, this was not a placebo effect. As I explained it to my psychiatrist, medication may kill the pain but medication never made me feel like engaging in life. My libido went straight up. My anxiety was less and my depression was coming down. I was taking 4 mg of Klonopin per day for the past 3 years. Now I don’t take any. I once was taking Zyprexia, Remeron, Neurontin and Lovux at the same time and now I am taking nothing!!
My Mayo doctor told me we may need to start thinking outside the box. But when I did think outside the box she shot it down simply because of her ignorance. She had never heard of it so she didn’t think she needed to explore it. I don’t blame her; too many people have abused the system so cynicism and skepticism exist with health care professionals, especially surrounding depression and anxiety.
However, if you work with patients that are suffering with depression and anxity, from young to old, please take the time to look at this website or call me. Unless your medical chart has written in it, “suffers from OCD, severe depression and anxiety, you may never know how unpleasant life can become.
Go to www.depressiontreatmentnow.com . The device or the use of it in the medical setting, without reimbursement by insurance blows me away because 6 out of 10 doctor visits are mental health/stress related. I promise you that this still can be a program that is not a money liability for practice. It will not be huge money per procedure ticket but it will be a service that can make money by sure volumes. It only takes 20 minutes per day for 3 weeks. I know that anyone in pain from this affliction would give .50-$1.00 per minute to get this relief. Shit I would have sold a kidney. The patient does not need an LPN, or an RN to apply this device. The use is as easy as an I-pod. One time directions and the patient set themselves up and then can read a magazine, watch TV or listen to music. Think of the impact this could have on returning troops. So many are suffering!
What do you have to lose, except several depressed patients! I know I was one for most of my 40yrs. After three weeks I am engaged in life. If you’re interested call the Moeller Medical Company and ask for Carl. He can answer any question about the device. Or call me I will be more than happy to talk to you.
