The Re Generation
A Platform For Seniors To Promote Their Skills
Over your life time you develop a huge variety of skills, ranging from work-related skills to those acquired through life experience.
Yet, many of these talents are underutilized or overlooked as society’s focus is on positions and titles rather than skill… until now.
The Re Generation is Australia’s first online skills market. In simple terms it’s an easy-to-use online service that enables individuals to ‘market their skills’ locally, nationally and globally.
In development for over two years by an independent Australian company with the assistance of an Ausindustry innovation grant,
the Re Generation enables individuals to create their very own Skills Signature® in a manner that guarantees their complete privacy. This “signature” defines each and every marketable skill an individual has acquired over time.
Whilst
the Re Generation creates a level playing field for all Australians, seniors represent the deep end of the skills pool. The fact that they are not aligned with any particular group or organisation creates a fairness never before available.
The Re Generation’s mission statement also serves as their operational focus - to unbundle an individual’s skills and allow them to regenerate those skills for income or simply personal satisfaction.
The interactive nature of the service gives operational control to the member through their “
My ReGeneration” page. Relevant market information and their individual skill performance are regularly provided, allowing a proactive approach in marketing of one’s own skills.
Both ASCCA and COTA NSW have added their weight to the Re Generation, along with a great many other organisations supporting the concept. Nan Bosler, founder and President of ASCCA states “This unique approach creates a wonderful opportunity for seniors to contribute to Australia again.”
In terms of privacy, the Re Generation is 100% secure. In developing the concept, close attention was paid to a member’s privacy. In particular, it was decided members must be able to determine how little or how much they may wish to disclose. The minimum disclosure is their first name and skills signature, so they are anonymous at first contact. It is then in their hands to make the next move.
